Crisis Nite Center

Dusk-to-Dawn Crisis Nite Center

The large Cross is the focal point of the building from the street view and offers comfort and rest for all who enter.

The Crisis Nite Center Philosophy
Then the righteous will answer Him, “Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?” The King will reply, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:37-4

Mission

The Crisis Nite Center is a facility that is open from 7:00 pm – 7:00 am daily as a  “safe haven” for all who come to spend the night. It is a “bridge” to existing services already provided by the Outreach Ministry where people access resources to assist in moving out of homelessness to housing.

Crisis Nite Center First 4 Years Serving the Homeless

December 2019 - May 2024

Crisis Nite Numbers for First 4 years (48 Months) of Service to the Homeless from December 2019 to May 2024.

  • The Crisis Nite Center provides over-night shelter in a safe, clean facility for the homeless.
  • Three meals a day are served. Clothes, laundry, and showers provided as needed.
  • The Center provides short-term stays with the goal of transitioning from homeless to housing. The success of this transition process results in a frequently changing homeless census at the Center.

Lodging

Average homeless staying in the Crisis Nite Center each night: 65 people

65 people x 1460 nights =  94,900 individual night stays

94,900 individual night stays at $70 average motel rate = $6,643,000

$6,643,000 value of lodging provided at the Center for the first 48 months (4 years). (approximate)

Meals

3 meals per day x 1460 days = 4,380 meals in 48 months

4,380 meals in 48 months for 65 people average = 284,700 meals served

284,700 free meals served in the first 48 months for people at the Center. (approximate)

These meals are in addition to the daily meals served to people requiring assistance at the Outreach Center.

Inside the Crisis Nite Center

The Crisis Nite Center is designed to be a respite from the outside elements where people can come to get a comfortable night's sleep. Large, zero-gravity chairs recline into a horizontal position.  Guests "drop-in" to rest in this climate controlled facility.

Crisis Nite Center Features

The Crisis Nite  Center is very well lighted, inside and out. Security is a high priority consisting of a camera system, a metal detector and an off-duty police officer in the building all night. There is a separate, enclosed "child room" for mothers with babies.

The Crisis Nite Center is located to the rear of the Soup Kitchen and Outreach Ministry Center where programs and services are offered daily.
