What We Do Living Faith in Action
The Belleville Council of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is dedicated to helping the poor of Southern Illinois and we are committed to fighting hunger, homelessness, and poverty. We reach out to offer assistance for utilities, rent, food, clothing, automobile, gas, medical, pharmacy and many other needs. We partner with other agencies, churches and organizations and utilize community resources to help in the best way possible. Our faith guides our desire to serve. Services We Provide Emergency financial assistance Emergency transportation Disaster relief and victim services Rent/mortgage assistance Shelter for the homeless Assistance for victims of AIDS, substance abuse, and crime Thrift Store Pharmacy assistance Employment assistance Job training Counseling/Information Social justice programs Advocacy Twinning, foreign and domestic Prison Ministry Burial of the indigent Embracing the lonely, forgotten, and alienated Service to anyone in need
